Theresa Villiers MP successfully entered parliament in the 2005 General Election as a Conservative MP; previously she was a prominent MEP in Brussels. We designed and developed an eye-catching website for Theresa's 2005 election campaign. We followed "brand" guidelines as set out centrally by the Conservative party, and created a content-heavy site which it was possible for Theresa's staff to easily and quickly update with news.

Tienjin also provided the following services for Theresa Villiers as part of this campaign:

  • Branding: The website was rebranded in 2007 with the new "David Cameron" look-and-feel, adhering to Central Office's brand guidelines documentation.
  • Photo re-touching: We prepared the main campaign literature photograph, as seen to the top-left of the website. This was used on all Theresa's campaign literature.
  • Email: We provided a POP3 email and webmail facility for Theresa and her staff for the duration of the campaign, allowing for on-the-road use, independently of other publicly-funded accounts.
  • Content management: All the content on Theresa's website can be easily changed by non-technical staff via a secure interface. Once published on the site, it is also added to an online RSS newsfeed for fast syndication.
  • Statistics: We supplied a comprehensive user-tracking facility for the site, providing data on all aspects of traffic to the site, including common search engine keywords used to find the site.
  • Search engines: Theresa's site was by far the highest-ranked website among other local candidates in Google for a wide range of search terms.

UK Government Projects

?

Our work for the UK Government is usually undertaken on the basis of our security clearance (SC level) status, and is covered by the Official Secrets Act.

As a result, we are unable to present specific projects here; however as an example of our work, we have recently been involved in a high capacity secure communications project. We delivered development and support of specific front- and back-end components as a subcontractor to a large company working directly for the UK Government.

Christ Church, Oxford

www.chchgcr.com

This project required a complete rethink and redesign of an existing website, used by the members of the Graduate Common Room of Christ Church college, Oxford. The new site was very well received by all the members, and features an interactive events calendar, plus several blogs for common room committee members to communicate with the members, as well as a large amount of useful content.

Oxford University Music Society

Another "rethink" project, the Oxford University Music Society required a new design, plus a site that was capable of listing and searching a large amount of database information, including a wide variety of different events, and a database of musicians. This project also included a comprehensive back-end set of tools, allowing manipulation of the database, plus some content-management. The new site has been very well received by the many different types of user of the website, from players, to event organisers, to the general public.
